Education + Effort = Excellence for Everyone

WISHES are set to come true for Chronicle readers thanks to their new campaign. The Chronicle has teamed up with Newcastle Building Society to dish out £25,000 to worthy causes in the region. There are hundreds of community groups and charities in constant need of funding to keep up their good work. The campaign will give them the chance to pay for vital equipment, building repairs, trips - or whatever else is on their wish list.

Fell Dyke Community Primary School would like to ask everyone for their help and support in this campaign. The school would like to install new drainage on the school playing field. At present the field becomes frequently waterlogged , which means that it can't be used by the school or local community for long periods of the year. The new drains would mean  all year round access for sport and recreational activities and this would impact hugely on the school.

You can help our school by collecting tokens and sending them into school. Every registered group will get a slice of the £25,000, and the amount paid out will depend on the group’s token tally. So every token collected is vital to the success of the campaign.

Tokens will be printed in the paper from October 6th 2008 to Novemebr 29th 2008.These can be sent into school with the children or dropped off at the school office. We will update you on the success of the campaign. Your support, as ever, is greatly appreciated.

To support Fell Dyke Community Primary School in the competition, send tokens printed in the paper to Fell Dyke Community Primary School , Springwell Road, Wrekenton Gateshead, Tyne & Wear  NE9 5BB.
